Cortney Casey Appeals XFC Title Loss Over Opponent’s Spray Tan

In what might be a first, Cortney Casey is appealing her women’s flyweight title fight from XFC 26. Casey claims Pearl Gonzalez’s spray tan made her slippery and it should have been banned.

“I want a rematch and I think it’d be a great fight,” said Casey on Inside MMA. “We did three rounds of amazing work and it was a great show, and it was a great fight. But I can’t live with the fact that someone had a banned substance on them and that I couldn’t implement my game plan because of that substance.”

In the third round, Gonzalez won the inaugural title with a submission. Casey goes to 1-1 and Gonzalez 2-1.

As for evidence, Casey still has her shorts from the October 18 fight, which appear stained from tanning spray.
