Conor McGregor: “Welcome To The Irish Age”

Taking a line from the UFC, Conor McGregor proclaimed it the “Irish Age” during the recent UFC 189 World Tour.

The multi-city tour wrapped up last week in Dublin, allowing McGregor to shine in front of his home fans.

“Welcome to the Irish age,” he said. “It’s been a long road. The game can be tough. The MMA community was so small, but we stuck with it. We are known for our fighting capabilities. It’s only right that we come and take over the premier fighting organization, the UFC.”

McGregor will square off with Jose Aldo this July at UFC 189 for the featherweight title. The two had several close encounters countless times during the media frenzy.

“Notorious” is unbeaten in his UFC career and a former two-division champion with Cage Warriors. He believes he can do the same inside the Octagon.

“After I get that 145-pound belt, I have my eyes on that 155-pound belt,” he said. “There’s only one reason that belt is on that side of the table, and it’s because he hasn’t faced me yet.

“Rematches happen a lot, but the manner that I beat him, there will be no need for a rematch.”
