Conor McGregor Has “So Much Respect” For Aldo, Mendes

Conor McGregor knows that the fight game isn’t just about what you do inside the cage.

While “Notorious” isn’t going to stop talking trash and promoting himself, he does know a good fight when he sees it – even if he’s called out both competitors numerous times.

McGregor was Octagon-side Saturday night to witness Jose Aldo’s successful UFC featherweight title defense at UFC 179 over Chad Mendes. He appeared on the FOX Sports 2 post-fight show to discuss the bout.

“It was a phenomenal contest,” McGregor said. “I have so much respect for both of them.”

Surprisingly enough, Aldo and Mendes each mentioned McGregor in their in-ring post-fight interviews. The champion referred to him as a “joker,” while Mendes stated plans to “whoop” him down the line.

For now, McGregor is set to meet Dennis Siver in January, but he was asked how a match up with Aldo might go if paired up.

“He showed his heart and will in there,” McGregor said. “He showed his frustration, as well.

“I feel if I connect, it will end. That’s the difference between me and them.”
