International Fight Week will be just that this year, as Conor McGregor challenges Jose Aldo at UFC 189.
Set for July 11 in Las Vegas, the UFC featherweight title fight will culminate a week-long festival in “Sin City” put on by the promotion.
McGregor (17-2) confirmed the news during a Q&A session Friday, saying “I’m going to rip that Brazilian’s head off.
“This is just another man in my way,” he continued. “It just takes one clean connection from me and it’s done.”
The Irish-born fighter has won all five of his Octagon bouts, including a recent string of three consecutive “Performance of the Night” finishes.
Aldo (25-1) is the only person to hold the UFC 145-pound belt, having defended it seven times. He owns wins over Kenny Florian, Frankie Edgar and Chad Mendes.
