Conor McGregor and Holly Holm earned categories at Wednesday night’s “ESPY Awards.”
McGregor, the reigning UFC featherweight champion, kept the award in MMA by joining Ronda Rousey, who captured it last year. That ended a run of boxers winning “Best Fighter” since 2007, as McGregor topped Robbie Lawler, Gennady Golovkin, Roman Gonzalez and Canelo Alvarez.
Holm claimed “Best Upset” for her win over Rousey last November. She was also nominated in the “Best Play” category with 15 other moments from the past year in sports.
