After Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez had a slugfest to possibly take Fight of the Year, the post-fight interview saw Sanchez slurring his words. Featherweight Conor McGregor noticed and would need to see medical paperwork before possibly steeping foot inside the Octagon with Sanchez.
“He’s slurring his speech,” said McGregor. “I’m worried about the guy. Before I fight the guy, I want to see his medical reports. I don’t want to be the guy leaving him being fed with a tube for the rest of his life. But as I said, it’s easy money and money is my favorite.”
McGregor is currently out until next year with an ACL injury. The Irishmen came into the UFC and took a pair of wins, including Knockout of the Night in his debut.
Sanchez holds an astounding seven Fight of the Night honors. He’s 1-1 since returning to lightweight this year.
Neither McGregor nor Sanchez have return dates.
