Colby Covington spent two years living alongside Jon Jones in Fort Dodge, Iowa on the campus of Iowa Central Community College.

As Jones, the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, explains his actions to the Albuquerque Police Department after a hit-and-run incident from this past weekend, Covington took to Twitter to comment on “Bones.”

Earlier this year, Jones admitted to using cocaine after it came up in a pre-fight drug test. He still went on to fight – and defeat – Daniel Cormier.

On Sunday, Jones’ rental car struck another vehicle and resulted in a 30-year-old pregnant woman being sent to the hospital with a broken arm. Police reports state that Jones ran from the scene, returning to obtain something from the vehicle, before fleeing on foot again.

He turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department late Monday night after an arrest warrant was issued in his name.

Jones, who won a junior college wrestling champions with the Tritons, and Covington also lived with fellow UFC fighter Joe Soto at the time.

Covington also responded to a comment by posting “Just being honest. My family and I did a lot for the guy so when he got famous to forget about us was a slap in the face.”
