UFC president Dana White confirmed on TSN in Canada that if Mickey Gall wins at UFC 196, he will indeed get his shot at CM Punk.
Gall will meet Michael Jackson in a battle of UFC newcomers on February 6 from Las Vegas. The bout will be part of the early Fight Pass prelims.
On White’s new reality series, ‘Lookin’ for a Fight,” Gall competed on the first episode, earning a win in his debut. Immediately after, he signaled to White that he wants to face Punk, real name Phil Brooks.
“I’m bringing Mickey Gall in and he’s gonna fight a kid named Michael Jackson,” White said. “If (Gall) wins that fight, (he) will fight CM Punk.”
White also revealed that Punk will be in attendance for the fight to possibly see his opponent in action.
Brooks decided on Roufusport in Milwaukee for his MMA training, working with Duke Roufus and the likes of Anthony Pettis, Ben Askren and Sergio Pettis.
