Regardless of the outcome and what others felt, CM Punk enjoyed every second of UFC 203 Saturday night.
Punk, a former WWE superstar, made his MMA debut against Mickey Gall. He was defeated in the first round via rear-naked choke.
“It was the time of my life. I feel I’m better than I showed,” he said. “Hats off to Mickey. He’s an up-and-comer. I’ve got some things to remember this from.”
For Punk, it was the ultimate learning experience. Despite putting in the time at Roufusport under Duke Roufus, nothing could compare to the actual walk to the Octagon and a real-life fight with Gall.
While some believe his run as a fighter is over, Punk isn’t taking that approach.
“There’s a lot of food in my future, he said. “I’ll take a little vacation from the gym which means that I’ll probably be back in there on Tuesday. I want to do better.”
