For Chris Wade, The Run Continues In Boston

ufc fight night 81

Despite being a New York native, Chris Wade found success in Boston Sunday night, earning his sixth consecutive victory at UFC Fight Night 81.

Wade dominated Ultimate Fighter 22 alum Mehdi Baghdad, flattening him out in the final seconds of the opening round and locked up a rear-naked choke. He was originally scheduled to meet Mairbek Taisumov, but an injury scrapped that.

“When we got that replacement, we decided as a team not to worry too much about what Mehdi did and focus on what I do well,” Wade said. “Execute the game plan and it worked out.”

With the win, Wade (11-1) has now claimed victory in all four of his Octagon appearances and his last six fights overall dating back to 2013.

Last year, Wade earned decisions over Christos Giagos and Zhang Lipeng after a technical submission of Cain Carrizosa in 2014 with a guillotine choke.
