We all know that Chael Sonnen is never one to turn a fight down.
Just minutes after news broke that Rashad Evans would not be able to fight Daniel Cormier at UFC 170 next Saturday, Cormier took to Twitter in hopes of finding a replacement.
While most assume the UFC will re-book Evans and Cormier, “DC” did state his case for a bout with Anthony Johnson or Chael Sonnen.
Johnson stated on Twitter, “I know you both were working hard for this fight. Best of luck 2 you and with whoever takes Rashad spot.” Johnson will be returning to the UFC later this year against Phil Davis.
Well, Sonnen didn’t have the same response, writing, “I accept. See you in (Las Vegas).” Sonnen has been filming The Ultimate Fighter Brazil recently and is slated to meet Wanderlei Silva in May.
He added, “ya know I haven’t been crazy about (your) attitude as of late. Daddy ain’t ready, but he’s ready enough. Feb 22 just say my name” in a post to Cormier.
No word yet if the Sonnen acceptance will hold up through UFC officials. Cormier, Evans and Sonnen are all frequent analysts and hosts on FOX Sports programming.
