Chael Sonnen has to worry about Rashad Evans, but he can’t stop talking about Wanderlei Silva. “The American Gangster” continues to egg on Silva, now saying his PRIDE fights were fixed.
“Wanderlei’s version is, ‘I’d really love to do it, but the UFC just hasn’t offered it to me,’” said Sonnen on The MMA Hour. “But anyone who believes the UFC hasn’t offered tried to put on this colossal mega-fight between two guys that genuinely disdain each other is more than silly. It’s a level of ridiculousness.”
Silva teased last week his UFC return was in the works, but it wouldn’t be the first time he’s messed with the media. He hasn’t fought since getting Knockout of the Night and Fight of the Night over Brian Stann in March.
Sonnen returns at UFC 167 opposite Evans on November 16. The card will be the promotion’s 20th anniversary show and it comes from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV.
