Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has had trouble staying healthy after signing contracts to compete inside the Octagon.
Chael Sonnen, who doesn’t like to let many fighters off the hook, ripped into Nogueira via Twitter Thursday night after word of his exit from a planned bout with Alexander Gustafsson was made public.
“Lil Nog” was slated to face Gustafsson in March, but that is now off. Here’s a look at some of the one-liners Sonnen rattled off in regards to the Brazilian:
“It’s Halloween. Lil’ Nog went as a FIGHTER, but he didn’t fool anybody and got no candy.”
“He’s the ‘Carmen Sandiego’ of MMA.”
“Too bad he can’t list his profession as ‘Fight Avoider’ on his tax return.”
“He gets hurt more than Johnny Knoxville.”
“He signs his contracts in disappearing ink.”
“He fights less than Ghandi.”
Sonnen has taken issue with Nogueira’s decisions to pull out of fights, saying at one time that he goes into training whenever the fighter signs for a bout so that the UFC has someone ready to step in.
