Chael Sonnen hosted a live question and answer session on Reddit Monday night, and fans had plenty to ask.
Sonnen was asked about steroid use by both himself and former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The two had a pair of matches, both won by “The Spider.”
A question asked if he thought Anderson Silva was juicing when the two met.
“By todays standards? Sure,” Sonnen responded. “More than I was? Doubtful.”
Sonnen retired last year after failing several drug tests leading up to a planned bout with Wanderlei Silva.
In regards to another previous opponent – Jon Jones – Sonnen stated that he believes a “dream” super-fight between “Bones” and Chris Weidman wouldn’t be good for the middleweight champion.
“Weidman is the best,” he said. “Should stay at 185 for now.”
Sonnen named Frankie Edgar his favorite fighter of all time, said the upcoming Jose Aldo-Conor McGregor fight “isn’t a close fight. ‘And still,'” that he typically cut 37 pounds before a fight and added “I don’t suggest doing that,” and that he threw the spinning back-fist vs. Silva because he was “trying to win.”
