Chael Sonnen isn’t one to sugarcoat anything.
Sonnen, who faces Rashad Evans later this month at UFC 167, was honest about his assessment of their upcoming fight during UFC Tonight recently.
“I think that Rashad is in good shape, but in 15 minutes, I can keep up with him,” Sonnen said. “This is a very close fight that comes down to who fights better on that evening.”
Both are coming off wins, as Sonnen defeated Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Evans topped Dan Henderson.
As usual, Sonnen also took the microphone and used it against Wanderlei Silva, who he will face sometime in 2014. The two are set to coach on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3.
“The great Rashad Evans deserves to be more than an appetizer before I destroy Wanderlei Silva,” he said.
