Top featherweight contender Chad Mendes has signed a new deal with the UFC, the fighter announced via social media on Monday.
Mendes stated that he “just negotiated my new contract. It’s good to be at the top,” posting a photo of himself with UFC brass Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta.
The 30-year-old has lost just twice in his career, with both defeats coming at the hands of UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. He earned a TKO over Ricardo Lamas this past April.
UFC president Dana White stated on Twitter that the deal is for eight fights.
