CFA 12 Closes With Flyweight Champ Josh Sampo Meeting Sam Thao

Championship Fighting Alliance (CFA) is giving newcomer Sam Thao a great opportunity. To close CFA 12, he takes on flyweight champion Josh Sampo.

Thao is 7-1 and has only competed three times since 2010. When he returns at CFA 12, it’s his first fight in over a year.

Sampo has won three in a row, with appearances for Legacy FC and CFA. He choked out Alexis Vila in January to claim the gold.

Previously announced for the co-main event is transgender fighter Fallon Fox taking on Ashlee Evans-Smith for the inaugural women’s featherweight title and $20,000.

Other booked fights include interim featherweight champion Sean Soriano vs. Peter Grimes and E.J. Brooks vs. Yoisdenis Cedeno for the vacant CFA lightweight belt.

CFA 12 is October 12 from the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, FL with a main card airing live on AXS TV.
