Gil de Freitas scored a first round submission victory over Chip Moraza-Pollard in the main event of CES MMA XXXI Friday night to become the new welterweight champion.

De Freitas earned the title with a knee-bar victory in 4:37 on AXS TV. The fight served as the main event.

In other action, Daniel Vizcaya submitted Chuck O’Neil and Kody Nordby did the same vs. Dinis Paiva.

Kody Nordby (5-3) defeated Dinis Paiva (7-6) via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:24 in round one.

Eric Spicely (8-0) defeated Aaron Johnson (13-10) via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-26).

Andre Soukhamthath (9-3) defeated Carlos Galindo (10-4-2) via TKO (elbows) at 3:46 in round two.

Greg Rebello (19-6) defeated Mike Mucitelli (7-3) via KO (punch) at 3:24 in round one.
