Cat Zingano’s physical therapy is right on track, after having to undergo a second surgery on her other knee. She was already on the injured list with an ACL tear.
“About a month ago I had some stem cell injections,” said Zingano to MMA Weekly. “They took fat out of my body and they spun it and they shot it back into my knees and I feel really, really good. I’m going in next week to get some more PRP injections. This is all supposed to help rebuild the cartilage and regenerate tissue to help my knees.”
Following the operations and injections, Zingano expects her knees to be their healthiest in years.
Zingano is undefeated with eight wins. Though she took Fight of the Night and the win over former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, the ACL injury caused Zingano to miss on coaching The Ultimate Fighter.
The 31-year-old should be back during 2014.
