Cat Zingano might be going under the knife once again. Currently out on an ACL tear, her healthy knee is showing signs of a meniscus tear. An MRI will be done to confirm the injury and if it’s there, Dr. Ronald Kvitne will have to operate on it.
“If she does may have a torn meniscus, she’ll need surgery fairly quickly, so she can get back on track with the rehab,” said Kvitne to Yahoo! Sport. “We think three months from now she’d be back in the ring training, sparring; so fighting in about four to six months from now.”
Before suffering the ACL injury, she was slated to appear opposite champion Ronda Rousey on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter. She defeated Miesha Tate to earn that spot. Ultimately, Tate got the coaching gig.
Zingano is unbeaten with eight wins. She finished all but one of those, last taking Fight of the Night honors with Tate.
