Welterweights Carlos Condit and Matt Brown will indeed square off this year, as officials announced the two for UFC on FOX: Pettis vs. Thomson.
The card takes place December 14 from Sacramento and the Sleep Train Arena. It is shaping up to be an action-packed event, as the main event boasts Anthony Pettis defending his UFC lightweight title against Josh Thomson, Urijah Faber meeting Michael McDonald and Chad Mendes facing Nik Lentz.
Condit, a former interim UFC welterweight champion, rebounded from a two-bout losing skid to finish Martin Kampmann. He is 29-7 in his career and 6-3 with the UFC.
Brown (18-11) has been on a tear, winning six in a row. He was once 5-5 in the Octagon, but now owns an 11-5 overall mark.
