UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and former champion Junior dos Santos will place themselves along a who’s who of MMA this evening when they meet.
The two are fighting for a third time in the main event of UFC 166, with both holding a win over the other.
After hitting the scale at almost the same weight on Friday – Velasquez was 241, dos Santos 240 – the two are now just hours away from colliding.
“It’s going to be great for the fans, I know,” dos Santos said. “I am going to give you guys one more knockout.”
“Cigano” did just that in the first meeting, stopping Velasquez in the first-ever UFC card on FOX. That came in the opening moments of action.
Velasquez returned and dominated dos Santos for five rounds, reclaiming the belt with a decision.
“I am ready for a tough fight,” Velasquez said. “I am ready for a five-round fight; ready for whatever.”
