Cage Warriors 60 Holding One Day Tournament To Crown New Lightweight Champ

The Cage Warriors lightweight belt has been vacant since Conor McGregor left the promotion for the UFC. That changes at Cage Warriors 60 with the announcement of a one day, four-man lightweight tournament.

The field of competitors includes Stevie Ray, Ivan Buchinger, Mick Sinclair and Jason Ball. The fighters have yet to be matched together.

Ray had his three fight win streak snapped earlier in the year. Buchinger’s only career defeat came from McGregor.  Sinclair has stopped 10 of his 12 fights. Ball is the most experienced of the group as he returns to the promotion.

The opening bracket will be two rounds at five minutes each with overtime if needed. The final is set for five rounds at five minutes apiece.

Cage Warriors 60 is October 5 from The Forum in England. The main card streams at MMA Junkie with Facebook taking care of the prelims.
