Cage Warriors 59 Tournament Undergoes Change Due To Injury

Next week’s Cage Warriors 59 tournament has a minor change as Martin McDonough is out with a fractured hand. Kris Edwards, a teammate, will be the replacement against James Pennington.

“I’ve seen first-hand how hard [McDonough] prepared for this tournament and he’s devastated to have picked up an injury,” said Edwards. “But I’m thrilled with the chance to replace him, and I’ll do my best to bring that title back to Tillery Combat.”

Edwards was originally booked on the card as an alternate bout. The new alternate fight is Jordan Desborough vs. Timur Mercanoglu.

The winner of the four-person, single-night tournament claims the vacant bantamweight title. The opening bracket is on the prelims and the co-main event of the main card will hold the finals.
