Brian Ebersole Announces His Retirement After UFC Fight Night 68

Almost 70 pro fights is enough for Brian Ebersole, as the veteran announced his retirement following UFC Fight Night 68 Saturday night.

Ebersole (51-17-1) went just 1-3 in his last four, competing in those four bouts over a three-year stretch. Prior to that, though, he had won 11 in a row, including four with the UFC.

“I’m old – everything hurts,” Ebersole said (thanks to for the quotes). “A lifetime of wrestling takes a toll on you –getting your head pulled, knees banged up. I’m going to leave it to the young guys now. That’s it for me.”

After suffering a knee injury, Ebersole was forced to end the fight on the stool, giving him his first TKO loss of his career. Nine of his other defeats were via submission, while 34 of his wins were finishes.

Ebersole earned the Cage Fighting welterweight championship and defeated the likes of John Howard, TJ Waldburger, Chris Lytle and Carlos Newton during his career.
