Brendan Schaub has completed 11 times inside the Octagon.
And the former Ultimate Fighter contestant does not appear to be willing to do it again.
Schaub (10-5) announced that he will be stepping away from the sport at 32 years old and concentrating on other business endeavors, including “The Fighter and The Kid,” a successful podcast he co-hosts with comedian Bryan Callen.
Schaub, who has been very out-spoken concerning the UFC-Reebok deal and other issues with the promotion, made the announcement on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Rogan, an announcer for the UFC, was very critical of Schaub after a loss to Travis Browne.
“I won’t do the game a disservice,” Schaub said. “I wont’ do that. Unless I can focus full-time (on fighting), there’s no way.”
While Schaub admitted he has had run-ins with the UFC, he credited the promotion, saying “I iwe it to the UFC. I’ll always be indebted to the UFC.”
