Benson Henderson Receives His ADCC Draw

Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson is in China competing in the 2013 ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) Submission Fighting World Championships.

Henderson, who lost to Anthony Pettis earlier this year via first round armbar, will face Leonardo Nogueira of Brazil in the opening round of the under 77kg division.

Henderson is a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Nogueira is also an MMA fighter, going 3-5 in the welterweight division.

The tournament continues through Sunday, with several other notables also competing. That includes former Ultimate Fighter runner-up Vinny Magalhaes, who will be looking to defend his title claimed in 2011.

ADCC holds these tournaments every two years. Fabricio Werdum, Roger Gracie, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, Mark Kerr and Renzo Gracie have all won titles before.

The complete brackets can be found on the ADCC homepage.
