Beneil Dariush was competing for the second time in just over a month Saturday night at UFC on FOX 15.
After besting Daron Cruickshank, Dariush agreed to replace Paul Felder and face Jim Miller – in Miller’s backyard of New Jersey nonetheless.
Dariush scored a victory, improving to 11-1 in his career and 5-1 with the UFC. He’s won four straight since a 2014 loss to Ramsey Nijem.
“I didn’t think fighting this quickly would affect my performance, but I did feel a little bit sloppy,” Dariush said. “I honestly thought I would get finished. I felt sloppy in the stand-up and my timing wasn’t as good as I thought.
“I’m glad I got the win, but again, I felt sloppy and I have a lot more to show.”
In March, Dariush picked up his third submission win inside the Octagon when he locked up a rear-naked choke on Cruickshank. Since the Nijem defeat, he’s topped Miller, Cruickshank, Carlos Diego Ferreira and Tony Martin.
