Bellator’s Patricio Pitbull Makes His Case For Ranking

Patricio Freire

Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is the reigning Bellator featherweight champion, which should slot him right alongside the best in the world when it comes to overall MMA rankings.

However, it appears as if Freire is feeling slighted.

This past weekend, Jose Aldo defended his UFC featherweight gold with a decision win over Chad Mendes. And while Freire isn’t putting down Aldo, he is making his own case via Twitter to be ranked right behind him – at worst.

The 27-year-old hasn’t lost since a 2013 split decision to Pat Curran, which he avenged this past September by besting Curran and becoming the champion. He owns wins over the likes of Diego Nunes, Jared Downing, Daniel Straus, Wilson Reis and Georgi Karakhanyan during his career, with the other defeat being a split decision to Joe Warren.
