Bellator’s London Event To Feature Kimbo Slice Vs. James Thompson

Kimbo Slice

A rematch eight years in the making is now set for Bellator 158, as Kimbo Slice meets James Thompson.

The card goes down July 16 from The O2 Arena in London, marking the promotional debut in England for Bellator. The main card will air on Spike TV.

Bellator president Scott Coker announced the event and fight during a Sunday night appearance on ESPN’s “SportsCenter.”

Slice (6-2) scored his second win under the Bellator banner when he finished Dhafir “Dada 5000” earlier this year. However, he failed the post-fight drug test, but is expected to only receive a 90-day suspension.

Thompson (20-16) lost that 2008 fight to Slice via TKO after controlling much of the battle on the ground with his wrestling. He has gone an even 1-1 over two fights with Bellator.

Along with Slice-Thompson, Paul Daley will get his long-awaited rematch with Josh Koscheck in his native country. The two met in the UFC back in 2010, as Koscheck (17-10) picked up the decision. After the contest, though, Daley (38-13-2) punched “Kos” and was subsequently released from the UFC.
