Justin Lawrence, the current Resurrection Fighting Alliance featherweight champion, has signed an exclusive contract with Bellator.
The promotion announced the signing on Friday, bringing the 24-year-old into one of their deepest divisions.
Lawrence (7-2) made his MMA debut in 2010 with Strikeforce, also competing for the UFC and earning a 19-second head-kick knockout of John Cofer.
“Its been a big week for Bellator, with Gleristone Santos, Phil Davis and now Justin Lawrence joining the ranks,” Bellator president Scott Coker said. “We remain committed to not just signing proven stars, but also recruiting top prospects from regional promotions, evidenced by our recent signing of RFA featherweight champion and top young up and coming fighter Justin Lawrence. I said it before and I will continue to say it, we will build them from ground up and hit it from the top down.”
Lawrence trains out of the Alliance MMA gym in California that also features Michael Chandler and the recently-signed Phil Davis.
