Bellator MMA’s Joe Vedepo was jailed after refusing to leave a local sports bar in his native state of Iowa recently.

According to a report by the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Vedepo (17-9) was subdued by several police officers after attempting to re-enter the Sports Column after refusing to leave. The fighter had a Taser used on him ineffectively after kicking officers and head-butting another.

The officer who was head-butted had to be taken to an area hospital and was treated for back injuries.

Vedepo lost to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal last month and is currently in custody after being arrested on one count of assault causing injury to a peace officer, two counts of assault on peace officers and one count of public intoxication. He is being held on $10,000 cash-only bond.

Previously, “The Doctor,” was convicted on drug and theft charges and multiple counts of public intoxication. He previously fought for the UFC, as well.
