Bellator 160 Results: Benson Henderson Stops “Pitbull,” Earns Title Shot

Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson will get the chance to add Bellator gold to his collection later this year.

Henderson scored a second round TKO victory over Patricio “Pitbull” Freire Friday night in the main event of Bellator 160. Freire, a top featherweight contender, suffered a broken shin during the fight and was unable to continue.

Next up for Henderson (24-6) will be Michael Chandler this November. That bout will go down at Bellator 163.

In the co-main event, Derek Anderson defeated Saad Awad, while Georgi Karakhanyan knocked out Bubba Jenkins and A.J. McKee earned a submission win.
