Bellator 132/WSOF 17: Three Things To Look For

wsof 17

Before we get to Sunday’s UFC action, both Bellator and the World Series of Fighting will hit the airwaves.

Bellator 132 brings us a world title fight between featherweight champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire and challenger Daniel Straus, while WSOF 17 boasts Jake Shields and Brian Foster in the main event.

Here’s a look at three things to watch for on both cards:

Will Straus take back the gold?

Straus avenged a previous loss in 2013 when he downed Pat Curran to win the Bellator featherweight title. The third meeting between the two went to Curran, as did the belt currently worn by Freire.

In 2011, Freire topped Straus via decision, winning a tournament final.

Can history repeat itself for Straus? Or will it for Freire?

Combined, they hold 25 finishes and 45 victories between them, so these two know how to win. It’s hard to point to one difference that might net a winner, though Pitbull does have more knockout power on his resume.
