Under the old regime, Saturday night’s Bellator 131 card might have been pushed to pay-per-view.
Instead, Scott Coker and crew are presenting a strong lineup on Spike TV, as Tito Ortiz faces Stephan Bonnar in the main event. Also, Will Brooks and Michael Chandler meet for a second time this year in the co-main, with the vacant lightweight title up for grabs.
Here’s a look at three things to look out for Saturday while watching the card:
Is there really anything better in MMA than an old-fashioned grudge match?
A lot of times, the heat between fighters isn’t real. They’ve either created it, or had someone create it for them.
While not knowing Tito Ortiz or Stephan Bonnar personally, these two really do seem to have no love for each other. And that should create fireworks.
Neither fighter is in their prime, as both have previously retired from the sport. What that means, is, we could see a crazy, all-out-brawl in the opening minutes that leaves one fighter standing and the other on the ground.
FightLine will have coverage of the action, along with all your breaking news and information leading up to it.
Of course, if neither comes ready to do battle, we could be in store for 15 minutes of little action.
