Bellator 110: Quinton “Rampage” Jackson Vs. Christian M’Pumbu

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Christian M’Pumbu

Our second light heavyweight tournament semifinal will see former UFC champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson take on ex-Bellator champ Christian M’Pumbu.

Jackson (33-11) is fighting fro the first time since a November TKO victory over Joey Beltran in his Bellator debut. Prior to that, he went 2-3 in his last five UFC fights.

M’Pumbu (18-5-1) has dropped two straight, both by decision. His 2013 loss to Attila Vegh was for the Bellator title.

Round 1: No touch of gloves, as these two had quite the stare down after weigh-ins. Jackson is jumping around, and M’Pumbu just stops and puts his hands up, as if to tell him, “Bring it.” M’Pumbu weighed in under 200 pounds, so he is obviously the quicker fighter, but Jackson is doing a nice job of cutting off the cage right now. Nice little exchange and Jackson clinches. It almost looks like Jackson is unsure of the range that M’Pumbu has, as he is very hesitant to get inside. Kick by M’Pumbu and Jackson lands a flush left. It was almost just a slip by M’Pumbu but Jackson is on top, landing uncontested shots and M’Pumbu goes out. He is protesting the stoppage, but he was clearly knocked out.
