Bellator 106 scored 1.1 million viewers, making it the most watched event in the promotion’s history. The main event saw the long awaited rematch between Michael Chandler and Eddie Alvarez. In a split-decision, Alvarez reclaimed the lightweight championship.
During the main event, the show peaked with 1.4 million viewers.
The show was originally set to be Bellator’s first attempt at a pay-per-view, but when Tito Ortiz suffered a neck fracture the decision was made to move the card to free TV.
The nearly four hour card also saw Emanuel Newton became the interim light heavyweight champion with a decision over Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and Daniel Straus took the featherweight title from Pat Curran.
Bellaor 106 was this past Saturday, November 2. It came from the Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA. The prelims aired at Spike.com and Spike TV hosted the main card.
