Daniel Straus will return to Bellator after being out for a year as he finally gets his featherweight title shot with Pat Curran. A broken hand delayed the fight, which is now official for Bellator 106.
“It’s definitely going to be challenging, but I’m blessed with an opportunity that a lot of guys haven’t been blessed with,” said Straus on MMA Junkie Radio. “So being off a year, I’m just not going to let it affect me. Obviously, ring rust is a problem, but you’ve got to just get in there and get it done.”
Straus won the Season 6 featherweight tournament. He last submitted Alvin Robinson just over a year ago.
Curran will be looking for his third title defense. He submitted Shahbulat Shamhalaev in April.
Bellator 106 is from the Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, CA. The main card airs live on Spike TV on November 2.
