Ricardo Tirloni is two wins from capturing the Season 9 lightweight tournament for Bellator. In the co-main event of today’s Bellator 105, Tirloni is looking to make Alexander Sarnavskiy tap out.
“I believe I can submit him,” said Tirloni to MMA Fighting. “I’ll keep the pressure all the time to make him make a mistake, and then I’ll catch him. I want to finish him, and I go for it all the time.”
Submitting opponents isn’t anything new to Tirloni, but his last few fights have gone to a decision. A decision over Rich Clementi landed Tirloni in the semifinals.
Sarnavskiy has won his last four, with three ending via submission. He required less than two minutes to lock in a rear naked choke on Marcus Davis in the quarterfinals.
Check them out at today’s Bellator 105, with a main card that is just hours from starting. It’s from the Santa Ana Star Center in New Mexico.
