Battlegrounds MMA: O.N.E has been postponed until October 3rd, but the event will now air live on pay-per-view.
The one-night eight-man elimination tournament is still taking place at the BOK Center in Tulsa Oklahoma, and features six UFC veterans along with two other welterweights who will need to win three fights that night to take home the $50,000 prize.
“This is a tremendous step forward for our two-year old company that will allow us to bring BattleGrounds MMA’s world-class competitive platform to a live, national audience for the first time,” said Kenny Monday, President of Battlegrounds in a statement.
“We truly appreciate all the support and enthusiasm that the fans and our fighters have shown us. On Oct. 3, we are going to show our gratitude by giving MMA fans throughout the U.S. the opportunity to take in all the action live from their homes.”
Tickets purchased for the June 27th event will be honored by the BOK Center on October 3rd, according to the promotion. The event has a start time of 10pm ET, but no price-point has been set for the pay-per-view broadcast.
The tournament bracket will be established randomly at the event’s weigh-ins on October 2nd, and the eight welterweights looking to rack up multiple wins throughout the night are Brock Larson (37-8), Cody McKenzie (15-4), Dennis Hallman (53-14-2), Luigi Fioravanti (24-11), David Mitchell (13-4), Chris Honeycutt (4-0), Roan Carneiro (16-9), and Trey Houston (11-2). There will be one tournament reserve bout between Marcus Sanchez (4-0) and Jordan Smith (18-6).
The card also features a fight between Ryan Couture and Jonny Carson, as well as Nicdali Rivera-Calanoc vs. Jen Aniano.
