BAMMA announced the signing of Brendan Loughnane to a multi-fight contract recently.
Loughnane (10-1) returns to the BAMMA cage for the first time since BAMMA 19 when he bested Steve Polifonte. He is 2-0 with the promotion overall.
“BAMMA is the only place to be in Europe right now,” he said. “They are making all the big moves and giving fighters the exposure they deserve. It was a simple choice. I have seen what they are doing and I just want to be a part of it.”
Loughnane was on The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes, replacing an injured Michael Pastou as part of the lightweight Team United Kingdom roster. He lost to eventual winner Norman Parke via decision in the semifinals.
“Change: It might come forcefully like a tidal wave or creep along incrementally like a glacier. The BAMMA featherweight division has been creeping along like a glacier until recently where it has just gone up in another level,” BAMMA matchmaker Jude Samuel said. “The acquisition of Brendan Loughnane and his decision to drop to featherweight is a clear indication of the plans we have going forward for the division. It’s exciting times and there are some exciting match-ups to be made.”
