BAMMA has agreed to a new eight-fight contract extension with Colin Fletcher, the promotion announced on Thursday.
Fletcher, an alum of The Ultimate Fighter, has won five of six fights with BAMMA – one of the top promotions in Europe. His lone loss was to lightweight champion Mansour Barnaoui via submission.
“It’s an easy choice for me,” Fletcher said. “BAMMA let me be the fighter that I want to be and let me express myself my way. They understand that I train my backside off in order to walk out and have some fun and I love them for that.”
Fletcher, nicknamed “Freakshow,” owns an 11-4 record overall, including seven submission victories. He scored a TKO over Michael Brightmon this past December.
“We are delighted that Colin has chosen the BAMMA promotion to continue his MMA career,” BAMMA managing director Ashley Bothwell said. “He is undoubtably one of Europe’s most entertaining and talented fighters, and Colin brings the house down whenever he competes. He gives so much of himself in every performance, and I know that the fans appreciate that fact and love him for it.
“From a BAMMA perspective, it is another sign of the development of the brand. Europe’s best want to be a part of the hugely exciting journey that we are currently on, and Colin’s commitment is another sign of that.”
During his UFC career, Fletcher lost in the finals of TUF to Norman Parke via decision, and was also handed a decision loss to Mike Ricci. He is 3-1 in his last four overall.
