Shay Walsh and Alan Philpott will meet for the vacant BAMMA bantamweight title this July at BAMMA 30.
The title was vacated when Tom DuQuesnoy signed with the UFC. He earned victories over both Walsh and Philpott before departing.
“Regaining my BAMMA world title is my number one goal, none of these bantamweights can stop me achieving that,” Walsh said. “Alan Philpott is standing in my way and he will be dealt with. My momentum and confidence are sky high at the minute, this is the perfect time to remind everyone of the level I’m operating at and be reunited with my belt.”
Walsh (16-4) has won two straight since that loss and is a former BAMMA champion. Philpott (16-9) currently holds the Lonsdale title.
“He’s had his time, he’s slowing down, and I’m only getting started,” Philpott said. “I’m too fast on a bad day, on a good day he doesn’t stand a chance. No one in the division is ready for what’s coming. A new king is rising. ”
BAMMA 30 takes place July 7 from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.
