Taking a fight on just a few days notice, Arnold Allen earned the biggest win of his young career, submitting Alan Omer at UFC Fight Night 69 Saturday.
The 21-year-old, who replaced Mike Wilkinson, locked up a guillotine choke after a rough two rounds, earning the submission win in Berlin.
“It was a crap performance and I’m a bit pissed off,” he said. “Next time, I’ll get the knockout or something with a bit more prep.”
Allen (10-1), who won a lightweight title in England just a few weeks back, admitted he just picked up on the submission hold recently from Jack Mason.
“Honestly, I never thought it would work,” Allen said. “It was desperation of sort. But I knew it was on and I’ve done it many times in the gym.”
