To the surprise of no one, Anthony Johnson is now ranked fifth in the latest UFC light heavyweight rankings. A new batch of complete rankings have been posted following UFC 172.
Johnson, making his return to the promotion after being cut following a loss to Vitor Belfort and a third missed weigh-in, jumped nine spots after dominating Phil Davis in the co-main event. “Rumble” was 14th last week, while Davis fell three spots to No. 7.
Bethe Correia moved to No. 10 in the female bantamweight division after defeating Jessamyn Duke. Despite earning a title shot against flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, Ali Bagautinov fell one position to No. 5, while Ovince St. Preux dropped three spots to 14th at 205 pounds.
In other ranking news, Rashad Evans and Glover Teixeira flipped second and third. Teixeira was defeated by Jon Jones over the weekend, while Evans has been out since suffering a knee injury earlier this year.
