Andrei Arlovski Still Haunted By Fedor Emelianenko

It’s been six years since Andrei Arlovski was knocked out by Fedor Emelianenko.

But listen to Arlovski talk about it, and you would think the fight just happened.

During a recent interview with Submission Radio, the former UFC heavyweight champion talked about the loss to Emelianenko, his upcoming fight with Travis Browne and more.

“My nightmare is (expletive) when Emelianenko knocked my ass out in Affliction,” Arlovski said. “It’s ridiculous. It was so far back, it was the biggest fight of my life.

“I did what I wasn’t supposed to do and I gave him a present. I would love it if the UFC (signed) him.”

Arlovski (23-10) and Browne will meet this May at UFC 187, and the two actually have a past together as former training partners under the watchful eye of Greg Jackson in New Mexico. In fact, he lived in “Hapa’s” house before Browne departed for California.

“I don’t like this fight. I don’t want to fight him, but it is what it is,” he said. “If I want to move forward and I just have to fight Travis Browne, absolutely he’s my friend. We were teammates for a long time and deep inside I don’t like this fight.

“But it’s a business. It’s nothing personal; it’s business.”
