It may have been years back, but Andrei Arlovski was once UFC champion. He now finds himself looking in, as he returns to the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) later in the week.
“I have only one personal goal: a champion’s belt around my waist and that’s it,” said Arlovski on MMA Junkie Radio. “I will do everything possible to be champion again and I will do everything possible. That’s why I train with Greg Jackson and other top fighters in MMA. Greg and other coaches helps me every day to reach my goal.”
WSOF 5 is closed with Arlovski taking on former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Mike Kyle.
It’s the third time Arlovski will headline a WSOF card. He’s 1-1 for the promotion with a win over Devin Cole on the inaugural show. He broke his jaw in March.
Kyle didn’t rejoin the UFC when Strikeforce held their final show in January. He needed 21 seconds to stop heavyweight Travis Wiuff.
WSOF 5 is this Saturday, September 14. It’s from Revel Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. Main card fights air live on the NBC Sports Network.
