Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva received a scare recently, experiencing numbness in his legs that prompted a brief stay at a Brazilian hospital.

According to a report by Combate, Silva was working out in Rio de Janeiro when he lost feeling in his legs for a moment, stated Ivan Raupp on Twitter. “The Spider” is slated to make his Octagon return this January at UFC 183 against Nick Diaz.

Silva is said to be recovering well at his home and still plans on competing in 2015 vs. Diaz. He is also slated to appear on the fourth season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil opposite Mauricio “Shogun” Rua as head coaches.

Last December, Silva suffered a broken leg during a title fight with Chris Weidman. He underwent extensive surgery and rehab since to get back into the gym and prepare for a fight.
