Anderson Silva gave a typical Anderson Silva post-fight interview Saturday following his loss to Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 84.
Despite leaving Bisping a bloody mess, the former UFC middleweight champion was defeated via decision for the first time since a 2000 loss to Luiz Azeredo – which was his third pro fight.
“What can you do differently,” said Silva, through his translator, Ed Soares. “You saw the fight. I thought it went differently.”
“The Spider” rocked Bisping in the final moments of the third round, dropping him to the canvas. Silva responded by celebrating, thinking as if he had won the fight. Instead, referee Herb Dean ruled the bell saved the Brit and the bout continued.
“Thank you for everything,” Silva said. “Thank you for coming to watch the fight. I am very happy (to fight in London again). Thank for to the people of London.”
And with that, he promptly left the Octagon.
Silva, once the king of MMA, has not scored an official victory since a 2012 non-title win over Stephan Bonnar.
