When Anderson Silva is seen inside the Octagon, Hollywood actor Steven Seagal is often by his side with a few words of encouragement. Seagal’s role has never been officially revealed by Silva’s camp, but the former middleweight champ is speaking on his job.
Segal is good man, no coach, no train me, is a good man, is a good person, that’s it,” said Silva on WHOA! TV. “I trained the front kick for a long time. I start to train mixed martial arts a long time ago. Segal showed me the movement, the little movement — but I working hard for this kick my whole life.”
Silva will look to get his belt back when he takes on Chris Weidman. It was in July when Weidman ended the unprecedented reign of Silva.
The rematch goes down at UFC 168 and their title fight will be the last one of the year. It’s on December 28 from Las Vegas, NV’s MGM Grand Garden Arena.
